I have just released the 1st track from our upcoming album. Recorded by myself & Madelief van Vlijmen at Studio M15 in Hoorn, The Netherlands, engineered by Jeroen Tenty. We tracked a live-take of me singing it on my Kalamazoo archtop with Madelief on an old pump organ. That felt right for the song. We had tried a few takes the day before in other constellations but the harmonium sound that MF created delivered the vibe I needed to really live inside it. We then added, bass, piano and the riffs – there were some old ukes and a dobro-mandolin laying about so we used them. Steve Heather later added a drum overdub from his Jazz pad in Berlin. Editing, mixing and mastering by Zlaya Loud. We are really stoked with how this one turned and. It meant a lot to me to get it right. Zlaya nailed it! The song was inspired by conversations I had with my recently passed father and his older brother. I want to keep the stories they handed down alive and the best way I know how to do that is via song
